Two ways you can receive Medicare Benefits

Seniors may not realize it, but there are two ways they can receive Medicare benefits.
The first and best known way is the Original Medicare coverage. Under Original Medicare, seniors may select any healthcare provider or hospital they want, as long as they will accept Medicare. When they receive these goods or medical services, Medicare will pay the providers directly.
The second way is Medicare Advantage, which is a form of managed care, such as PPO or HMO. Medicare is funded by the private insurance companies that are approved by Medicare. If someone is enrolled in the Medicare Advantage plan, they will generally go to healthcare providers that are within their company’s network.
