Medicare’s open enrollment season is here. This is the time for those who are receiving Medicare benefits to select new plans or make changes to their current plan. With open enrollment season here, its also a time when con artists try to scam people out of their hard earned benefits. Below are 4 tips to avoid sales pitch scams:
- Tip: Do not fall for a plan because it comes with no or low premiums.
- Tip: Try to understand which expenses do not and do count toward the maximum
- Tip: Be sure you know how much coinsurance will and what services it will apply to
- Tip: Do not respond to vague solicitations or ones that come from insurance companies, unless you want agents to come to your home and give you one of their pitches.
