Thanks to extended and frequent time-outs in 2015, which include backlog of work, Congress will have nine working days until the new fiscal will begin in October 1.

Congress is still on August recess until after Labor day. Below are a few things Congress must figure out during this short working month:

Medicare Premiums: Will Part B premiums by paid in millions including many retirees remain at $104.90 per month or will remain at one in three will be hit with a $50 per month increase.

Health Premiums: Health premiums for 2016 will be released in November. Some will remain flat while others will increase. While a few will decrease. However; with a minimum pay raise and zero COLA (cost of living) pending, everyone will be going to have to shop around during the upcoming open enrollment season.
