October is known as Talk About Prescriptions Month and it marks the start of Medicare’s Open enrollment period. This is the perfect time for seniors to talk about Medicare medications coverage and extra help that comes from Social Security.
Newly eligible Medicare enrollees and current enrollees who are thinking about make changes to their current plans should act now. Medicare’s open enrollment, which started on October 15 will end on December 7th. Medicare’s Part D prescription coverage is available to all those enrolled in Medicare to help them with that costs of prescription drugs.
Enrolling into Medicare’s Part D (prescription drugs) is voluntary, and enrollees will pay an additional monthly premium for prescription drug coverage.
