People who receive Medicare will see significant changes to the Medicare enrollment rules this fall. If you miss the opportunity to make adjustments to your current plan, you will have to wait another year. Medicare’s annual open enrollment period will take place October 15th through December 7th. Both Part D and Medicare advantage plan members can make changes to their plans at this time. Medicare’s Advantage Dis-enrollment Period will take place between January 1st to February 14, 2015. Only the people with Medicare advantage plans will be allowed to return to the Original Medicare Plan and can enroll in a stand-alone prescription drug plan. There are APPRISE counselors that will be available to assist people will assessing their Medicare coverage option during open enrollment.
