Medicare Advantage plans marked by problems
The New York times has reported that Medicare Advantage plans are marked by several shortcomings. The shortcomings include the limits on prescription drug coverage and the rejection of claims for medical services. Federal officials have said they have repeatedly criticized and in some cases penalized, Medicare health plans for their serious deficiencies for the improper rejection of the claims for medical services and the unjustified limits they have placed on prescription drug coverage. These findings are cataloged in dozens of federal audits reports and come in as millions of Americans prepare to sign up for prescription drug plans and private health plans in Medicare’s annual open enrollment, which starts on Wednesday (October 15th) and will end December 7th.
