Denied a Medicare Claim? Don’t give up. Persistence is the key!

Lawsuits filed by a center for Medical Advocates has found key flaws in Medicare’s appeal process, however persistence may pay off.

Good News: If you had a Medicare claim denied, you may appeal the denial. Bad News: This process, which could consist of five layers of review is often arduous, but expert say that persistence is important.

Denied claims are give a rubber stamp at the first two levels of appeal, the lawsuits say. Enrollees will nee to push through to the third level in which they will present their case to administrative law judge.

This process can be frustrating, but if you have a strong case and a health care provider launching appeals may be worth it. You also have the option file a lawsuit without a lawyer and filing fees.
