The CMS has revealed their rates for their Medicare deductibles and premiums for 2015. Medicare’s Part A deductible for home healthcare services, inpatient hospital and skilled nursing facility will increase by $44 in the calendar year for 2015 to $1, 260, while the monthly Part A premium will decline by $19. Part B monthly deductibles and premiums will remain unchanged. Daily Medicare coinsurance amounts for days 61-90 of hospitalization in a benefit period; $360 for lifetime reserve days; and for days 21-100 it will be $157.50 for extended care services in a skilled nursing facility in a benefit period. Part A premiums, which are paid by 1% of beneficiaries who have fewer than 40 quarters of Medicare-covered employment, will decline by $19 in 2015, to $407. The base Part B annual deductibles and monthly premiums for hospital outpatient and physician services, durable medical equipment, and certain home healthcare services will remain unchanged for 2015 at $147 and $109.90, respectively. The base Part B premium will be adjusted for higher income beneficiaries.
